At work we use laptops. when the company upgraded our laptops they took them cleaned the HD and replaced Windows 98 with Windows 2000 pro. Now the comp works perfect except there is no sound. In device manager there is no conflicts no errors or anything. All sound properties have been turned wide open and nothing is muted.Ive uninstalled the sound card and reinstalled and still nothing. It says the card is a Creative SB Audio PCI. Ive gone to the creative labs website and done the scan to see if drivers need to be upgraded but there scan dosen't detect any of there products ?? the comp is a SENSPRO680-PII SN#2169467-0001 (Micronpc.com). Its has a 500 MHZ processor. 128 MB ram. I feel as though this is a Win 2000 issue but can't figure out how to fix it. Im also not sure what components such as sound cards it has installed. Its my computer now and I can do what I want with it. So I thought Id put Win 98 back on it to see it that fixed it, but wanted to ask you guys first
And one more thing - Just about every one of these computers that had this done to them came back with no sound.
Thanks for any help
