We installed office xp via a gpo at are old site. We have just moved site and merged with another company. All the pc's which had office installed on them via the gpo take 15 minutes to log into. Is there anythning i can do to stop this (i don't want to unisntall then reinstall office)

check which DC they are logging with, check our sites and services mmc and make sure all is in order,
check out which DCs are global catalog servers...

I'd try forcing a gpupdate on the machines. Do the following at a command line.

On windows XP run:
gpupdate /force

On Windows 2000 run"
secedit /refreshpolicy machine_policy /enforce
secedit /refreshpolicy user_policy /enforce

Then reboot.

I hope you find this post helpful.

If none of the previous have helped. Some more information may help solve the problem.
How did the domain structure change with the merge?
Does the install policy still exist? The server? Package?

It just seems like the policy is still applied to them and they're looking for a something that doesnt exist anymore.

Does nothing show up in an Event log?

Just some ideas.
