I have multiple applications that I handle the installations for using Macrovision's InstallShield. I have no problem configuring the files, redistributables, paths, etc.
I am wondering if anyone can provide some details on what can be done to prevent the "Windows is preparing to install" issue that seems to come up when using installed applications as different users on Windows (All versions).
A more specific scenario:
Application is installed on a Windows Terminal Server. When users log into the terminal they use our application, but when performing certain functions within the application windows wants to reconfigure the installation. If we run the Windows Install Cleanup Utility and remove the application using it, the problem seems to disappear. Of course, we really should not have to perform this operation.
Anyone have some ideas on how to install application files, and at the same time prevent these types of windows configuration issues?
I know even Microsoft Office has this problem, but I'm really hoping for a potential solutin.
Thanks in advance for any advice!
