Installation quitting on Win 2000

as soon as i try to install QuarkXPress6.0 on win 2000 m/c.it says preparing ti install then it quits and nothing happens.i have tried editing the dcomcng did not help.tried downloading the latest version of install shield,windows installer.Please help :(

I had a similar issue with Quark but was getting a definitive error message that the windows installer could not be found or it was not installed. This was not the case. I finally ran a repair from the W2k cd and then all worked fine. Can you install other software on the machine?
