Installation of additional G700 Media Gateway

Hi,

We currentlly have an S8300/G700 (Main) located at 30th Floor and S8300/G700 (LSP) located at 26th Floor . We have rented another floor which is 15th Floor and we need to add another G700 media Gateway (only) for installing media modules (since the 2 media Gateways above is full) and also support for resources (internal voip module). What I think is I will just be needing 3 Ip addresses with their subnets and their gateway For the P330 (internal switch Ext1 and Ext2), for the MGP and the built in voip module. Are there still something that I missed? So my configuration will just be on the console port of the media-gateway? After puting on the IP addresses, subnet mask and gateway of the P330 (internal switch Ext1 and Ext2), for the MGP and the built in voip module, Are still still things that I need to configure? Any help is deeply appreciated.

You are correct. Two more things:
1. add the media gateway to the switch, with the serial number of that G700. The most reliable place to get that is with the "show system" command in the MGP.

2. configure the MGC list of the G700 so it knows where to register itself.

Thaks for the reply. After configuring all of it (adding addresses, setting mgc list, setting reset-times). Before adding a mediagateway in my main controller, do I need to issue a reset system 4 first or it is not necessary? I'll just add the mediagatewya and that's it?

No, no reset is necessary. Either before or after...
You can add the MG first to the PBX first, then once the MGP is configured it will immediately register.
