Install XP on Compaq Presario CQ50-110EM

Hi, sorry this may be a bit outdated really - but i've been asked to install XP home on a Compaq Presario CQ50-110EM laptop and was surprised to find no official support and very little unofficial. I could report back and say it isn't possible but I'm quite stubborn so would like to know if it's possible.

which has some very interesting stuff on it. Any info on this subject would be quite beneficial as I like to keep informed and some of the stuff in this thread went over my head Any help appreciated.

Possible: very likely.

The issue comes down to whether you can find drivers for the hardware for XP. The Compaq website offers no drivers for XP. but maybe the win vista drivers may work, no guarantees though. Ore you will have to scour the forums and see if anybody has taken to the task of making unofficial XP drivers for the laptop.

So while you could totally go and format, then install XP on the machine, you probably won't get much of the hardware to function past a basic level if at all.

Any particular reason they want to downgrade?

Is maybe upgrade and Virtualization an option?
