Does anyone know how to install Windows 2000 pro on a PC running XP pro? As anyone who has tried it will know, when you run the 2000 installation disk on your XP machine it recognises it as an earlier version of windows and will not let you install it. Are there any ways around this?

Backup and boot from the win2k install Cd to start installation (rather that starting in Windows). when it gets to bit where you choose installation location, delete the existing XP partition and create a new one for 2k with the tools provided there. Then just install 2k as normal.

As I said - back up first as you will be wiping everything.
