Have read FAQs and posts until I can barely see straight. Have searched the KB and don't seem to be able to figure this one out. I am not normally using XP on anything I build so I would appreciate some help.

Seagate 120GB 7200 Serial ATA
AOPEN AK79G MAX DDR Motherboard
Apacer 512MB DRR Memory 400MHz
AMD EX XP 2500 Processor
Microsoft Windows XP Pro

USB is turned off for troubleshooting purposes.
Sound, network and video is onboard for now...will add cards later.

Have tried to add the MB drivers during install. Crashed and rebooted at the black windows XP screen.
Wont enter in safe mode, same thing.

Have tried twice from scratch. The first time XP loaded got errors non compliant unidentified something, no specifics, chose to continue. There is nothing non compliant on the system. It seemed fine. When it rebooted it crashed and rebooted at the splash screen.

Any fast ideas before I start testing hardware to go back?
Can't help but feel I am missing something here.

I hate open ended questions, this issue was closed.

Seagate provided a tool that solved the error, after a quick call to their technical support. SOMETIMES tech support calls are a good thing and not annoying at all.
