Install Oracle 8i client windows 2000 1

I've installed Oracle 8i client in windows 2000, and I don't know haw connect with a database Oracle in Solaris
Which are the steps?

in 'configurattion and migration tools' run the 'net configuration assistant'

Its fairly self explanatory

I run the 'net configuration assistant'and at the end this messages appears:
"jrew.exe has generated errors and Windows will be closed.

Then you have a problem with your client installation

Do a search on your PC for symcjit.dll and rename it to symcjit.old. Does it work now?
