Thanks in advance for your help,

I've got a situation where a user has had Windows 2000 and Office 2000 and removed the Office suite (for one reason or another). The user upgraded to Windows XP Pro, and now when trying to reinstall Office 2000, the installation hangs.

I was thinking that the previous removal of Office didn't get all the files under Windows>ProgramFiles>Office.

If these files are still there, would this cause the reinstalltion to hang?

The user is licensed for both BTW

Thanks

Thanks for your post smah, but the operating system is xp. The error message is "internal error 2755, Please contact support".

Researching this error message, the resolution according to MS is to change the permissions on the installer folder.

But where is the installer folder?

I know the OS is XP, but did you try deleting the registry keys mentioned in the articles?

I have no idea where the installer folder is, but if you install as Administrator it shouldn't matter. Note, Administratore does not mean a user with admin priveleges.
