Folks

Has anyone got any experience of upgrading Exchange 5.5 to Exchange 2000, with an AD forest, one root with 4 children?

I have one Exchange 5.5 server at the root domain, but have four other AD domains were the users logon onto the exchange 5.5 server at root level, using domain trusts.

In exchange the logon account info is like

root domain.

HEADOFFICE\BertW

Child Domain

REGIONA\FredW

Do I have to install ADC on the child domains too?

Any help would be appreciated.

Cheers

Can anyone help?

I have read abit more info from MS, they suggest putting ADC on the child domains. Has anyone had experience of this?

If it's any help, we upgraded from 5.5 to 2000/AD, we ran a tool on the 5.5 to convert them all to exported files, the re-imported them onto a newly created 2000 server, which worked really well, leaving the old server as backup and starting afresh on a new AD 2000 server, the rest is just 2000 AD work. Maybe not exactly what you were after, but I hope it helps.
