I know this may be a silly question, but is it possible to install a fresh version of Windows XP Media Edition onto my computer with all my files and programs intact? That is, I don't want to reinstall any of my software. Files I can backup, but I am missing some of my original software disks.

Thanks,

Daniel

Well, kinda, it's not a fresh install, but it will fix many issues, and still keep your data and installed programs intact. Look here for instructions.

It looks doable. Thanks for your input, RClarke.

Realize that long term, you're hosed when you move to a new O.S./computer - no discs.

I thought our little wild time had just begun.
