Install error says uninstallsheild is open.? help plz

Hello i am trying to install adobe elements for a scanner and i keep getting this error.

Setup has detected that unInstallShield is in use. Please close unInstallShield and restart setup. Error 432.

i have tried it as administrator, in safe mode and as network admin. Any ideas? thanks.
