Install batch file as a service?

Is there a way to install a batch file as a service?
I have a batch file I want to start on start up but I don't want the annoying command window to popup.

Any *.exe can be installed as a service using the Resource Pack utilities instsrv and srvany, and I would imagine the same applies to *.bat files.

Seems a bit extreme to make a service if the only requirement is to avoid the command window:
