I lost driver disk and manual for ethernet card in my laptop.

Where can i find what kind of ethernet card i have so i can download a driver for it?

perhaps there is a list on the web of commong laptop componens. such as ethernet cards, video chips etc?

for a driver.

Well, if it's a pcmcia nic, just pop it out and read the label.

If the nic is built into the laptop, go to the manufacturer's site and they almost always have a drivers section.
