I have a report with 4 groups and I have inserted vertical lines in each of the 4 footers to break up the data. I want to make the vertical lines in the groups appear as one vertical line when more than 1 group footers follow each other (so that group lines appear as one line). The problem is sometimes the line is too long (making the line extend outside the footer) or too short (does not meet the vertical line in next footer). Can anyone give me some tips?

Hi Carla,

What about making another group above the four existing groups with the vertical lines in it only, but have that group underlay the following sections? Just a thought, but then there is only one line to worry about and you don't have to make sure they line up.

Right click on the section margin on the left side of the design view tab in CRW, select "Format Section..." from the menu, check the "Keep together" option. Right click on the line and select "Format Line" then check the "Extend to bottom of section when printing" option.

Thanks Robert,
That is exactly what I was looking for. Now all I need to do is play with the top of the line to extend it to the top of the group. This makes things a lot easier though. Sometimes I can not use the "Keep together" option and it appears to work without using the "keep together".

Thanks again everyone.
