In Outlook XP is there a way to imbed the attachment into the body of the message. Instead of showing it under the subject field.

I know that's how it is by default in Outlook 2000.

Hi, VinDogg

When creating the message

Click on insert and the dialog opens to select the file.
On there there is an insert button with a little dropdown arrow to the right of it. Click on that & you get options to insert as attachment or insert as text.

This behavior is also affected by the sending format - aka RTF, HTML or plain text.

I have the opposite problem where I send a picture and I dont want it to appear in the body of the email. Unfortunatly I cannot find any insert info on my version of Outlook xpress which is supposed to be for XP. All I have is an attach button which does not have a little arrow beside it

What format are you using for OE. Plain text or HTML? If HTML check what format option you have set for HTML in TOOLS - OPTIONS - SEND.

Also the above conversation is about Outlook not OE.

I want to attach a file to an E-mail from a perl or shell script. I am using HP-UX and need to truly attach a file, not put it in the body, and send it everyday. Yes, the file gets regenerated everyday. It has thousands of lines that are 180 characters or more long so it will not format correctly in the body of an E-mail. Can anyone out there help me or point me to a place where I can get some answers?

Thanks!

I discovered if you insert the file as an object it works fine. That's how I solved my issue thanks guys.
