I am using Publisher 2003 on XP and having strange results when trying to view images. I have checked the view settings to include the detail of the image, but Publisher will not display it. Also the image will not print even though if I check the image using the info tool it shows up.
I have updated Office and XP and even reinstalled but nothing has changed. If I insert the jpg image again it will display it in the publication. If I then save the file and reopen it again the image has dissappeared. Can anyone help me with this as its very frustrating.
Many thanks.

I am having the same problem, but I can't even get it to display the inserted pic when I am trying to create a new publication. I don't have a problem with clip art images, just photos. Won't display gif files either.

Is your Picture Display (View/Pictures) set to hide? Do you have graphics turned off (Advanced Print Settings/Graphics and Fonts) on your printer settings?

I am using publisher 2000 on XP and generally have had no problems but this stumps me.My commercial printer asked me to start using Garamond BT as a font and it seemed to work just fine until I tried to pack and go my newsletter, then, if I checked off"embed true type fonts", as I had previously, Publisher went crazy and shut down after warning me I would lose all data. After waiting a few minutes I opened my publication again and all was normal until I tried again to pack and go. the next time I did not check of "embed TT fonts" and it went ahead and packd it with no further problems.I have since always taken the font to my printer on a disk but they have never had to use the disk as the font is always embedded. This has been working this way for some time and I am becoming used to it so I never make the mistake of checking the TT fonts but why is it doing this? The font is in the pulldown list and I can find no instruction for adding a new font package.
