Has anyone found (or designed) a program that accepts rs232 data and inserts it into SQL or an ODBC database? I have tried Serial Logger Service by but it seems to have some problems with the data from my Definity. I would like to write my own reports in real time.

I visited the website and they say it's meant for SMDR.
If you have problems with the format and you've puchased the software, contact their support desk and ask which format they need.

If you got that information, you can do "ch sys cdr" and change the format into "customized".

Now see if you can change the format to their needs and test it again.

Thanks, I figured out their software, and it is quite good. The problem was on my side (of course). It is inserting data into SQL quite nicely.

Have you had any luck capturing real-time or historical data from your serial connection? Is there any documentation on the character string and data disctionary?

Thats great that the logger works, I think I will get it. Do you have the definitions for the codes coming accross from the definity? I looking to capture ACD historical and real time data.

Check out the FAQ in this thread for info on how I set it up.

Thanks, is there a way to get the real time ACD data, like agent log on/off, make busy, on call, ext. I need this data also. If you know where the column definitions are for this data also, it would be very helpful.
