Anyone know how to set the data type in a table to 'Double'?
I've been asked to do this with the recommendation of using an Input Mask.
The field is 'Revision' as in the revision number of a document and takes the form of 2 digis (eg)Rev 00; 01; 02 etc.
any ideas, anyone?

An Input MASK does not effect the data type.
It just keeps end userd following a set wayy to key data in a field.
first make a copy of the table.

Open the old table in design view
find the field in question
the middle column is the field type click it and make it number if its not then Press F6 key to go in th ebottom settings click in the and you will see Double
select it and save changes

Ask me how Bar-codes can help you be more productive.

I know - just figured that out !
It was a typo on the instructions sheet I had to follow!
Cheers anyway!
