Hi,

I am a new user of Quarkxpress 5.0 and now I have problems seeing eps -files which have been made in photoshop in Quark. (I do not have the photoshop, should I need to?)

I saw the advices before, and I marked what I did:
QUESTION:
I havetried to import jpeg or EPS Files into QuarkXpress and get a "Quark cannot open this file in this version". I am running the 4.0 version, any ideas?

ziggy, sounds familiar, try trashing the xpress prefrences file and restarting quark.

check that you have the jpeg xt installed in the QuarkXPress xtensions folder. Possible corrupt eps. Also could try Prefs as said by delliott

(would like to know step-by-step)

Thanx in advance.

The EPS filter is built in ie it comes when you install QuarXPress. The JPEG Import XTension can be downloaded from If you can not import JPEG that is becoz you do no have JPEG import filter.
If you cannot import EPS then you can try reinstalling QuarkXPRess on your machine becoz The EPS is built in and might have got damaged due to some reason. So reinstalling can solve the problem...

eps comes inbuilt with QuarkXPress if you are having
problems importing it ,the possibility is that it might have got damaged for some reason ........
and for importing JPEG file you can download the "JPEG import filter 2.01 " from the quark website which is the updated version.
