I have Exchange 2000 SP3 installed on a Windows 2000 Server Sp4 box.

I recently uninstalled AVG Exchange version on the Server.

The MS Exchange Information Store now wont start automatically.

I get the following error in the Application Log:

Error 0x3ee starting the Microsoft Information Store. Failed to init VSERVER'

I get around this by editing the following registry key:

HKLM/System/Current Control Set/Services/MSExchange IS/Virus Scan/IS/Enabled

I change 'Decimal' to 0

I have to do this each time the Server reboots.

How can I ensure this doesnt happen every time?

Thanks

What is it set to before you change it? Sounds like the uninstall didn't work fully.

It's set to '1' - but anytime before the server reboots, it's set to '0'. It appears that when the server reboots, the information store resets this key to '1'

Is this key a necessary component of the Information Store?

Can anyone help? The problem still happens!
