Info on memtest

Hello all,

I have a Gateway computer (8 months old) running Win XP Home. It keeps rebooting all the time. I get IRQL_NOT_LESS_OR_EQUAL erro on BSOD. I did some searches here and saw that I should test the memory using memtest86.

I downloaded memtest. When I run the test it seems to get stuck in test #2. It stays there for ever. I don't see any error though. I went to the

website but not able find any info on this situation.

Any idea what is happening?

Try the Microsoft memory diagnostic:

You can either make a bootable floppy or a bootable CD from the download using Nero or EZ Creator. I find that it is more stable than memtest. It sure does sound like you have some bad memory though....
