Hello,

We are running Legato 7.1.1 on a solaris 8 server. We are also running Legato 7.1.1 storage node on a solaris 9 server. We want to store storage node indexes to the storage node. I have followed the instructions in legato's solution ID legato1570. My question is, can the indexes be saved to the same pool as the data? If so, how?

Thanks

Index save sets will be created when the server will be backed up.

So you must create a pool that filters this client' "index" and "bootstrap" save sets.

So what you're saying is the data and indexes cannot be stored on the same tape in the storage node, correct? That is how the solution id poses it. We want to save the client data and indexes to the same pool so they are together in the storage node.

No, they can even exist on the same media. However, it is easier to create a new one and separate them which is also better for disaster recoveries.

Of course you can also modify the criteria for an existing pool but this may be more difficult, depending on your configuration.
