Index Server Causing High Memory Usage

I inherited a web mess...it is running NT 4.0, IIS, and Index Server. Index Server is running the memory usage so high that if I don't stop and start the service twice a day, the website crashes in the middle of the afternoon. I looked at Microsoft's knowledge base and it said that IFilters could run the memory usage up. I uninstalled the IFilter that was on there and it is still running up the memory usage.

Is anyone else experiencing this problem?? What do I do to fix it?
