InDesign generated PDF has dim page 2+ why?

When I export an InDesign file as a PDF, or print to PDF, page 2 and on has a really dim master page (my backround in this instance). When I print this document the pages all have the same color but in the PDF page 2+ is much MUCH dimmer. Help anyone!
