Hello,

My configuration : NB5.0, Windows Server 2003, SQL Server 2000.
My Library : 1 drive

Backup strategy :
All days : incremental backup of my database
All weeks : FULL backup of my database
All Month : Full Backup of my database (keep out of the library)

When I do a Incremental backup, this one is based on the last FULL Backup.
I want the incremental backup is always based on the week FULL Backup and not on the month backup.

Can I do that? How?

Thank

separate policy for the Monthly

Just because the VERITAS documentation states a certain thing does not make it a fact and thats the truth

Hello Stumpr,

Your solution doesn't work.
To backup a SQL Server Database, I am obligate to make a policy for each type of backup. I can configurate a full backup and an incremental backup in the same policy because the script (or batch) isn't the same for the full and the incremental backup.
So, I'm obligate to do a policy for the database incremental backup, another policy for the database full backup (frequency : 1 week) and another policy for the database full backup with a frequency : 1 month.

And when I make a incremental backup, It is based always on the last full. And I wish the incremental backup is always based on the full backup with the frequency : 1 week.

What is the reset archive bit?
What is the manipulation?

PS: Sorry, but I am french and my english is not very good.

Thanks lot
