Sorry, but i'll be really the very first timer in here. Upon looking at ST02 (buffer reports) i see that i should increase the buffer size. How will i do this? i thought i could do it through ST02 but apparently not. It would just display the parameters and that's it. A little help? Thanks Mqrk14 Forever!!!

Hi,
SAP stores the memory and other parameters in one of 3 files -- START.PFL, DEFAULT.PFL, or INSTANCE<xxx>.PFL -- The easiest way to change and maintain the parameter settings is to go to transaction RZ10 and access the appropriate file. Most likely the settings your looking for will be in the INSTANCE<xxx>.PLF and if this is the first time you are using RZ10 then you will have to click on the import button to bring the file into the database for versioning (the file will still be stored in the /usr/sap/SID/sys/profile directory and can even be modified directly -- but not recommended unless you know what you are doing).
Once you modify the the parameter settings you will have to bounce SAP (shut it down and bring it back up) but the server itself can remain up.

I hope this helps

Regards,
Dominic Uliano
