This is a general request for information concerning the increasing of the account code by two additional digits.
Right now, we have a 3 digit Cost Center and a 3 digit Expense Element. The plan is to either add the 2 additonal digits to the end of the existing code or preferably to the front of the cost center code.
My preferance would be to prefix the Cost Center. The additional codes will be used to track separate coal pits and having it prefix the cost center would make sorts easier. We realize that statistics and allocations will have to be rewritten to accommodate the change. Any thoughts?
