Increase DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS

Running TOAD>DBA>Server Stats against two test 9.2.0 databases DB1 & DB2 where...

Database1)
cache Hit Ratio = 80.28 "may need to increase DB_BLOCK_BUFFERS"

Database2)
DBWR average scan depth "Number of DB_FILES too high" (=975)
Lib cache pin hit ratio (79.64) "Shared pool size too small"
CPU Parse Overhead (69.22) "High Parse CPU"

Any advice welcome

Don't use TOAD to tune the database

What problems are you experiencing ?

Thanks Alexu, no I wouldn't use TOAD to make changes - we have no reported problems I believe - simply making sure all systems running Ok. However I am still curious about the warnings

TOAD has to have a standard set of results which are 'right'.

Just because yours are outside this set does not make them wrong, just different to the TOAD set.

I wouldn't worry about it unless you have a problem
