Hey guys,

I have a Nortel M81c that is not outpulsing the correct DTMF tones from digital sets. Dialing internally to other sets is fine, but interacting with any system that uses DTMF as an input is impossible. For example: Users can reach the voicemail system, but are unable to navigate it. Analog sets work just fine (internally and externally).

I have called a nearby set and listened to these tones and they are way off!

The tech who installed the system has TTBL 1 selected in the CDB. I tried the default TTBL 0, but that throws EVERY tone off kilter. Dialtone sounds like DTMF, ringback sounds like DTMF...

Conf/TDS DTMF is set to 14 in LD 97.

What could it be??

What is your connection between the PBX and the "any system that uses DTMF as an input"?

Nortel911PLM: I was thinking the exact same thing. Can you supply me with a printout of a working one?

bigindian65: Yes, the problem is system-wide.

webster: The HMS is via DLC. The problem is also evident on outside calls.

does anybody if and what possibly the resolution to this trouble was? Only reason i ask is because im having the same issue with my switch talking to one of its remotes.

I had a MGC doing, just one, which had an ALC for fax in it. cycled power on that MGC and it resolved the issue.
