Incorrect Disk Space Reported

Hello

AT the moment our tape backup is failing. As a short term solution I'm trying to backup our 4.9GB database by copying it from our Win NT4 Server to a my Laptop which has 15.8GB of free space. However I'm geting an error message saying there's not enough disk space to copy the file.
Any help would be appreciated on this matter.

If your 4.9 gig database file is compressed, it could be 2 to 10 times larger uncompressed.

At the higher end of the compression ratio, you would not have enough space.

Turn on disk compression on your laptop and try again. GlennA
