Incorrect Characters Displayed From Non-English System

Hi All,

I have an English server which takes input from a German ERP system, the input contains all the german special characters etc. However when I open the document on my server for furher processing the german characters have gone and been replaced with strange symbols.

Could anyone advise what I could do to set the system up so I can see the German characters while still maintaining the normal english functionality?
