Sorry for the mildly confusing title, I have a user who wants to ring his extension from his mobile phone and automatically get straight into his voicemail without authentication etc..

is that possible?

thanks in advance

yeah but then he still has to enter his mailbox and pin, he wants to dial and forget essentially :)

Configure a speed dial on his cell phone whith the pilot number of the voicemail server. Configure an alternate number unders his voicemail profile thus when he calls the voicemail server it will put him into his voicemail box.

Stay cool; it’s not over yet!

even from the pilot number (5111) the user still has to input his mailbox number and pin code, are you suggesting using DTMF tones ?

if so cool hadnt thought of that but would be cooler if CCM could identify the number and route accordingly

What type of Voicemail system do you have in place. Is it Unity??

Stay cool; it’s not over yet!

yes sorry Cisco Unity 3.2 off the top of my head

Then you should have an option to add an Alternate Extension under the Subscriber mailbox. If you add his cell number there, when he calls unity will place him into his voicemail box as though he was in his office.

Stay cool; it’s not over yet!

I tried the alternate ext. thing with a cell number and it didn't work. I wonder why?

Kind Regards,

MassDeployer

What type of trunks do you have to get to CallManager?? If you have a PRI, it should work. You can watch 'debug isdn q931' output to verify the number that the telco is providing.
If you have FXO ports, make sure they are set up as H.323 and that the FXO card supports and is set up for CallerID.

make sure you turn on mon after starting 'debug isdn q931' and shut it off aftwards. forgot once and it pegged the routers utilization to 100%
