We have a Definity G3V3.

Our Hospital has a Home Health Agency which requires their phones to be answered 24/7.

The Home Health telephone number is published in the phone book, but when people call after business hours, I need the incoming calls to automatically be forwarded/diverted to the RN On-Call cell phone.

Example: Published Home Health is 685-7340 (By the way, 7340 is also Home Health's DID number).

Normal Office Hours are from 08:00 to 17:00, and all incoming calls should go to the published Home Health number 685-7340.

Incoming calls during non-office hours & weekends, should go to the RN On-Call cell phone 686-1953.

Can someone please tell me what I need to do, and in what order?

Thank you,

joe

joembass,

g3v3, whew. that's tough. there are numerous ways to do this but i just don't know which feature is there in that ancient release. :) you could use time-of-day coverage with remote coverage, or vectors, or a night service for a hunt group or trunk group... i think the night service you must have, not sure about other features.

Don't know about the g3v3, I got into definity in v8. Severla options, first a simple vector with 2 route steps to 2 numbers, one being an extension during open hours and the other being the mobile.

Another option would be set up a coverage path to the extension that could send the call to a vdn and check hours and send the call to any of the numbers.

One test that I did and worked was creating an extension without port (x on port field) and setting the coverage path to one that had several cell phones added on the coverage remote table. so when I dial the "virtual extension" the calls would always go the coverage path and from there to the cell phone, if that cell phone doesn't answer it will jump to the second cell phone and so on (up to 6) (note that you need off-net permsions on cos and customer settings). Then in a simple vector I send the calls to one number during business hours and to the virtual extension during off hours (with coverage set to yes).

Maybe it helps.
