Pls help...we have a G3 with pri, recently (today) we are receiving fast busy signal intermittenly on incoming calls. Both switch and local vendors have checked this out and blame the other. According to trunk measurments we are nowhere near capacity. When I do a list trace and force a busy signal the data reads

denial event 1164: ISDN call reject D2=CV D1=0xXXX D2=0xXXX

I'm a novice at this any and all help will be much appreciated

status your trunks and make sure you do not have any that are out of service. do a list measurement ds1 log xxxx (xxxx being the board number of T1) and see if there are any errors.

This is also a long shot but we have experienced something similar before. The PBX does not show any errors and the CO claims everything is fine on their end. the actual problem was capacity on trunking that is delivering the traffic from one POP to another. You may want to have them check their capacity of delivering traffic to your facility.
good luck

What do you have for ISDN intercept treatment? If you dont have that set, or your trying to dial a station that is busy with no coverage path you could get the phone system generating errors.

Also make sure that your T-1s are in the correct order in the signal group. If your using NFAS the will be numbered 0-X depending on how many you have. If you have them out of order, you could get some funny stuff.

on your list trace when your getting the denial even it should also state which trunk its hitting make sure that the problem is not always happening on the same trunk. It could still be on your side or theirs though. If its alwasy the same trunk its going to be alot easier to troubleshoot, but you will need to get your LEC's tester on the phone to place specific inbound calls on the trunks to figure out who's doing what.

Id guess either signal group problems or one T-1 is not set the same either on your end or thier end.

I did a list measure ds1 log and there were no errors. When I had the LEC on the line he said the T had some channels that were "locked-out". He said he couldn't get a response from our end when he tried to restore. He also said he saw some unusual messaging???

make sure all the Trunks hes looking at are programmed in the trunk group. If do a status trunk group XX you sould see the same "locked-out" members as him. My expericnce is when they say locked out, its out of service in the switch. Unless the trunks are not programmed in the TG, they'd be out of service (locked out) on his side, but you'd never see them as OOS on your side.

Usually 'fast busy' means that going from one central office switch to another out in the public network the trunks are all busy. Doesn't really have anything to do with your system. Either your providers problem or their providers problems in most cases.
