Yesterday I just migrated all my e-mail accounts to Exchange 2003 from 5.5. Today I get a call that 1 user cannot find some mail. Also, she is sitting there watching her inbox mail disappear one after another. to her delted items folder.

Is there some setting on the exchange server that by default will delete mail?

The user has no filters applied to her mail, no rules and also has the View set to from sender.

Any ideas?

Matt

Do you still have her mailbox active on Exchange 5.5? If you do that's your problem. You need to either delete or rename the mailbox on the old Exchange server and that should fix it.

Hi,

I also noticed this when a user had their mailbox open simultaneously on two workstations.

The account is no longer on the 5.5, it has been migrated to the 2003 server.

Also, this user only has their mail open once. We use Citrix and I verified that she is only logged on once.

I find it wierd though that the mail went right to the delted retension bin and by passed her local deleted items bin. I could not recover anything until I deleted a message then the option appeared showing about 20 e-mails.

Oh well, thanks for the input, I will just have to monitor it.
