Inbound Name Caller ID on NI2 w/o NDS??

Hello all,

Is it possible to get inbound name display on NI2 calls w/o NDS in the RCAP? I had always thought that NDS was 100% required, but I'm at a site where they are getting name (or at least some of the time) and none of their DCH have NDS. They all have just "COLP". I've also seen cases where if NDS was in the RCAP, the CO would reject outbound calls because the M1/CS1K was trying to send name out on the call.

So, is NDS required on the RCAP to receive inbound name?

I always thought it was. I have NDS on all my switches that receive name. If there's a way to make it work wothout NDS, I'm unaware.

I pulled some DCH MON 1 traces and found that indeed we are getting name on the DCH, even though the RCAP is only COLP:

Here's the messaging; I've masked my number in the first setup message; but the 4th message (CC FAC IND) contains the name our provider sent:
