Does anybody know the pins to which an IP hardphone is checking for power on? Cisco's data switches provide 48v power through the regular ethernet pins (1,2,3,6) and the power patch panel can provide this through (4,5,7,8).

Does anyone know what the IP Hardphone is checking for power on?

Thanks

48VDC on Pins 7&8. A standard Aux power adapter from Avaya like the one on an 8434DX will do the trick. There are also a couple AT&T/Lucent power distribution units which can distribute power from the closet level. The Cisco power patch panel should work but I believe the Cisco switches which provide power will not. Hope this helps.

Thanks,

Cisco's power patch panel says power is being sent on 4,5,7 & 8. I wonder if this would negativily impact a 46xx checking only on 7&8.

Do you know of the AT&T/Lucent pwr. dist. unit model #s?

We do have pwr adapters but would like to move away from them.

Thanks for your help.
