Hi,

Does anyone know if IMS 1.4 will work with Exchange 2003? We have it setup on a IPO 403 and working well with Exchange 2000 but IT wants to upgrade to 2003 and there is no information on whether IMS supports it.

If not, will 2.0 support it?

Thanks in advance,
Chris Zinck

All 2003 applications/platforms are being tested by AVAYA, Nov 2003, based on this testing applications may need to be changed for 2003 support.
2003 based O/s's / software will most likley be fully supported in May 04 with 2.1
4 your information CCC Server based apps seems to behave OK on 2003 Server.

I tried IMS during version 1.0 Did that go badly. I will never touch that software ever again.

With all due respect, AVAYA will need to test all applications on all platforms before general release.

Yes IMS and VM pro are supported on 2.1.10 see tech bulletin 26

Thats what I thought, but I can't find any documentation on setting it up w/ 2003. The windows are different for 2000/5.5. I've got a customer w/ 2003 and I haven't been able to get it working yet.

We created an IMS account on Exchange/Active Directory. That is part of the domain. They mention in the documentation to add the IMS account to some user group on the VM PC, but they don't tell you which group. I just added it to the ADMINISTRATORS group.

Anyone got this working that could give me some pointers?

Not supported. Went throught this earlier this year with Outlook 2003. If it's not listed in the documentation as being supported then it probably isn't, especially with this product.

The problem I had was with the the client side software (server was running 2000 exchange). I was able to get it working on one person's computer by tweaking the registry, but it's not consistent as it didn't work with the next one I tried. I called TS, was told it's not supported, and moved on.

Its a shame you gave up so easily since there is documentation indicating that it is supported. As TLDuk indicated, Tech Bulletin 26 indicates support for IMS in 2003 (Client & Server side). However, the document on the 2.1.10 CD image off the support site is corrupt and can't be opened, so the actual step-by-step information isn't available. Thats why if anyone's done it, I'd love to talk w/ them.

Just don't try to load MMM (multi-media module) on a 2003 server, it will puke on it (not to be too graphic) :)
