Hi All,

I work in a school environment where there are several buildings. Each building has its own subnet. We are having an issue when we backup across subnets it will take several hours to backup for example a server that has 5GIG of data being backed up. The only way I can improve this transfer rate is if I changed the IP Address of our backup server to an IP Address on the same subnet we are backing up. The problem is we have 3 subnets we are running backups for and only 2 NICs on our backup server.

Is there any way to improve the data transfer rate across subnets, without having to change the IP Address to the same subnet?

Thanks for any suggestions.

Zoey

Mike,

We have a Windows2003 Native Active Directory environment with multiple subnets over 10/100/1000 switches. The backup is being run over a gigabit connection.
