Oh Great One before me:
How-Who-and Why in the world do I keep pulling these patch cables out of switches and patch cords!!!
(1-BlWh/Bl,OrWh/Or,GnWh/Gn,4-BrWh/Br) I am getting tired of finding split pairs on these marked CAT5x grade cables when I troubleshoot. This is not a standard other than 66 block terminations!?!? I do remember IBM used this for their Dumb terminal stuff. Throw these away when you come across them-at least cut off an end as "the IT manager" tends' to pull any cable out of the trash when they see a good one.

Why is there never a phone in any of the phone closets?

Always cut the patch cables, line cords or handset cords in half at least, I usually also cut the ends off flush. I learned that years ago, three different people picked a defective cord out of the telecom room trash can. Three dead phones in three days. It just so happened to be a different color & longer than the rest of them in the building (Radio shack with a female end on one side).

Looking back on it- it was a good revenue maker.
