I have a query that prints a bunch of stuff releative to one job number. When it prints, on the top of the printout is the name of the query. Is it possiable to make that line a variable that corresponds to the Job number??
So right now every report prints "JOB PICK" which is the query name on the top of the page. I want it to say "JOB - #####" where the ##### is a number that corresponds to the JOB field on the query results.

Can it be done?

thanks in advance
Rubius

sure, in design view;
1. get rid of the label that has "Job Pick" on it.
2. in it's place put a text-box that has the control of
="Job - " & [Job Number]

note: where i have [Job Number] you have to put in the name of the field that contains the job number, but leave the brackets.
Brian Famous
bfamous@ncdoi.net

I don't know where you mean. Because this is a query, and "JOB PICK" is the name of the query itself. JOB PICK is what you would double click to open the query. I don't think you can make the name of a query a variable can you? Especally not a variable that is entered after you open the query..

thanks again.

ok, so you're printing directly from the query, as opposed to a report controlled by the query?

i don't know if you can change the title for that way. why not make a quick report (you can even use the report wizard). it can wind up being alot neater and cleaner, and you can put the proper heading at the top.
Brian Famous
bfamous@ncdoi.net
