importing QT files into premiere 6.0 HELP

i imported an .mpg file into premiere but it did not collect any audio. so i did a "save as" in QT pro and made a .mov file [with video and audio]. my idea is that i can import the .mov file intro premiere and edit it. however, i am unable to import this .mov file into premiere. all i need to do is import this project in and edit it! can someone please help!
