Importing psd layered file to illustrator?

...you could try saving from photoshop as a layered pdf version 1.4 or above, no compression, then drag and drop this onto illustrator...
...the result will depend heavily on your current photoshop structure, the more complicated it is the more compound paths and clipping masks you will have to sort through, expand the layer in illustrator to see the groups within...
...ensure fonts are loaded on your system...
..the other route is to export paths to illustrator (file > export), and then rebuild things, but your probably better off saving to pdf
