Importing HTML

Very new to this......infact never used Quark at all..

However, been given the task to find out the best of way of importing data into Quark while keeping the formatting. All being done programmatically.

Can i do this with HTML templates and then somehow import these....or is it best done with XML.

Any help greatly appreciated..... links to other resources always good too.
