importing 9i data into 8i error

hi ,

when i try to import data exported from 9i into 8i.
i get error.
not a valid export file, header failed verification
Import terminated unsuccessfully.

Doesnt oracle support it?

Yes - you have to do the export from the 9i database with the 8i utility - otherwise you get the error described

It's described in the Utilities Manual under "Using Different Versions of Export"
