Rather than manually entering (medical record number) values individually into a field in my select criteria, is there a way to import those values or copy and paste those values into the select criteria box. I tried doing a copy and paste from Excel, but was unsuccessful (it only pasted one value at a time).

As an alternative, is there some table option I might reference that has these values - that may be referenced or pointed to in my select criteria.

I have 500 specific medical record numbers that I need to select and search for to report on implants associated with those medical record numbers.

I am using CR10.

If you already have a parameter for record number and a dat base field that holds these records, make your data base field equal to the paramaeter and set the parameter to allow multiple values. Then, if you click the arrow for the drop down list in your parameter and start typing the record number it will start sorting through the list and you can add the number to the list of records you want to retrieve.

Thanks Robbie for the timely reply.

Requesting a little more help on my poorly explained request.

Firstly, I identifed medical records that I needed by searching on specific implant code numbers. That gave me a report with eligible medical record numbers.

Secondly, from the list of eligble medical record numbers, I then need to remove the specific implant code numbers (used in the first report) so that I may generate a report with all implant code numbers associated with that patient (or medical record number).

That second report will have, by definition, at least one of the implant code numbers from the intial report that I had run.

Example:
First Report (using implant code number 1234 to identify eligible patients))

John Doe, 1234, MR#445566

Second Report (stripping out the implant code number 1234 on the select criteria and using all medical record numbers identified in the first report)

John Doe, 1234 MR#445566
John Doe, 5678 MR#445566
John Doe, 2468,MR#445566

Is the MR# always the same for a patient and it's the implant code that changes? If so, why not select on the implant code and create a sub report joined on MR# which has name and implant code in the detail section?

I like that solution alot. I will give that a try. Thanks mucho. Yes, the medical record number does not change.

Great, I hope it works for you. It may run kind of slow though if you have a lot of records. Good Luck.

Thanks again Robbie, you are a Prince. You saved me several hours of work. The subreport linking on Medical Record Number worked flawlessly.
