I have Email on Netscape 4.7 on an old machine and I want to transfer this Email to a new machine with Netscape 7.1. I have copied the mail directory to the new machine and tried import the old mail and it did not work. I also tried to copy this mail to Outlook with no success. Can anyone help with the transferring this email?

When I first upgraded I had some issues as well. Basically the new NS stores the user profile in some hideous location (on my Mac, at least). Use the tool>import and go slow. Do the address book first. Then import the mail on a separate occasion. NS also places the folder outside of their current NS 4.x location under Local Folders instead of under the account name listed under mail. After all is imported - restart netscape and remember that preferences no longer does everything. The mail window must be up to modify mail/newsgroup accounts.
