I am trying to import contact data from an Access database to a contacts folder under the Public Folders in Outlook 2K. When I go into import and get to the point where I can tell Outlook where to import the data, it only shows me my personal folders. It does not even allow me to pick the Public Folders. Is this a limitation of the Outlook import feature? It can't be a rights issue because I am able to create a contacts folder under the Public Folders and add contacts and copy contacts. Any suggestions?

Thanks,
Rick

I believe you must be logged in as the owner of that folder, not as someone who shares it, to be able to import into it. You may be an owner, but then you must log out of Outlook and go back in as a different user (as the owner). In order to make Outlook ASK you whose profile you want to use, you should first go set up a profile that allows you to log in as the owner of that public folder (this should all be set up on the exchange server, but you need to add the profile to your PC), then in Outlook, go to Tools-Services, and you need to find the place where it says, basically, "have Outlook ask for a profile". Then, you close Outlook. You go back in and it should ask which profile you want, and you choose the "owner" profile (who prolly has no rights to YOUR personal folders, LOL), then you should be able to do it.

Hope this makes sense--you might need some help from your mail administrator. dreamboat@nni.com
